About

I am the author of children’s book, Smooch & Rose, published in 2013 by UQP. My second book, Spud & Charli, about bats, horses and friendship will be available in September 2014.

My first children’s story was accepted into the Allen and Unwin Children’s Manuscript Award in 2009, and in 2011 a short story, “Second Letter A” was published in the 2011 anthology of ‘One Book Many Brisbanes. I kept writing, reading, attending workshops and submitting until …  in July 2012, I pitched ‘Smooch & Rose’ to UQP at the CYA Conference in Brisbane, and by October, was offered a contract. I am thrilled to think my stories are out there being read by the people I wrote them for!

I blog once a fortnight here at Tallowwood Tales, and write about life, people, wildlife, writing and anything else that comes to mind.
